This seminar by Dr Francesca Sobande focuses on digital activity and experiences that contribute to Black diasporic digital knowledge and pedagogical work. Drawing on critical race theory, Black feminist thought and critical digital pedagogical approaches, there is consideration of different power relations that impact Black people’s online efforts to archive, learn, educate and co-create. As part of this there is discussion of the connected effects of Eurocentrism and North American hegemony, as well as the pervasiveness of interlocking anti-Black racism and sexism.
