Informed Scotland July/August 2015 – So much happening, so much to learn

As usual at this time of year the digest is packed with research studies, surveys, statistics, new courses, and of course exam results.

It’s worth finding time to dig deep into some detailed, fascinating reports, including HESA’s Longitudinal survey of 2010/11 graduates, Royal Academy of Engineering’s Dowling Review of Business-University Research Collaborations, UKCES’s studies of retail sector and high level STEM skills, and HEA’s review of the challenges for part-time learners.

We’re delighted when we come across new and innovative projects to share, such as RGU’s Talent Exchange, SQA’s Ushare and City of Glasgow College’s HNC Women into Engineering pilot. There are plenty more where these came from.

Favourite new word of the issue is ‘Datavores’! See Nesta’s report on the skills needed by businesses that rely on data for commercial decision-making.
